Rechercher un logement à Hong Kong équivaut à un véritable parcours du combatant. En effet, cette ville n'est ni plus ni moins que l'une des plus chères au monde en ce qui concerne les loyers. Cela s'explique par une population très nombreuse (plus de 7 millions d'habitants) réparties dans un petit périmètre; Hong Kong est connu pour avoir l'une des densités les plus élevès au monde, avec presque 6 500 hab/km2.

Ainsi, trouver un logement dans cette ville n'a pas été chose facile. Nous avions décidés, une amie et moi, de faire une colocation afin de doubler nos chances d'avoir un appartement et de diminuer nos dépenses liés à ce dernier.

Pour le premier mois, nous avions décidés de louer une chambre en auberge de jeunesse sur l'île de Hong Kong, dans le quartier de "Causeway Bay", quartier mondialement connu pour son shopping et pour son avenue la plus chères au monde, devançant même la "5th Avenue" de New York et les "Champs Elysées" de Paris.

On peut dire que nous avons vécu une véritable aventure dans ce logement: entre les lits durs comme du bois, la douche juste en dessus des toilettes ou encore la cuisine commune dans une autre batiment avec juste un micro-onde, le choc était total.

Nous décidions donc de chercher un nouveau logement pour les mois suivants. Au programme, recherche sur internet, dans les journeaux locaux ou encore visite dans les agences immobilières locales.

Après un peu plus de deux semaines de recherche et 5 appartements visités, nous avions trouvés, mon amie et moi, un appartement dans le même quartier, certe petit, mais avec tout le luxe nécessaire: salle de bain, cuisine, réfrigérateur et même une télé qui nous permettaient de regarder des programmes tous plus étranges les uns des autres.
